Zeldra Renee Norris Barnett affectionately known as "Renee" was born on January 10, 1996 in Los Angeles, California to Velma Kyle and Harry Lee Norris. Renee was her mothers second born and her fathers first born. Renee accepted Christ at an early age.
Renee grew up in the South Central/Watts area of Los Angeles, California where she attended 99th Elementary Street School, Samuel Gompers Middle School where she was a member of the school choir for 3 years. She attended Locke High School where she was a member of the award winning Drill Team. During her senior year of high school Renee had her first born, a son named Deonte Deshone Hull with Jerry Hull and still graduated class of 1984.
Renee started her career as a Dental Assistant while still attending high school and after graduating, she obtained her certification. Renee continued her education and became a Dental Hygienist and Orthodontist. In her career as a Dental Hygienist, Renee worked for a few dental offices including Smile Care and Dr. Joyner. Renee worked as an Orthodontist for Absolute Dental before being diagnosed with kidney failure. Unfortunately, Renee was forced to stop her life's dream due to dialysis.
As Renee established a foundation in Los Angeles, she met her soul mate, Dewey Barnett, Sr. They sealed their love for each other by getting married on November 28, 1986. To this union three children were born, Dionsha, Dyontranai and Dewey, Jr.
Renee was a dedicated mother and made sure her kids were well taken care of. One thing the family wants everyone to know is that she had a very big heart. If she had 10 cents to her name and someone was in need, she would give them 5. People would treat her wrong but she would still go out of her way to do for them. She was a good, caring and loving person. She was very talkative and she could carry on a conversation with a stranger. Everywhere she lived, she opened her doors to whomever and for that she will be most remembererd and most loved.
Renee was preceded in death by her grandparents Ester Ruth and James Waffer, father; Harry Lee Norris.
