Suzanne Hawkins

In the spirited dance of life, Suzanne Hawkins was the heart that kept the rhythm. Born November 10, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, Suzanne carried with her an infectious joy that left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know her. Her compassionate spirit shone through in every aspect of her life, from her loving home teeming with warmth to her successful career as a realtor. As Audrey Hepburn once said, "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other," and Suzanne embodied this sentiment with her unwavering devotion to her family and her thoughtful nature.

Known affectionately as Suzie, she moved through life with an energy that was both captivating and inspiring. She found joy in the simplest of things, like the playful dancing and singing that often filled her home in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her hobbies were an extension of her love for those around her; she poured her heart into home-cooked meals and radiated an unshakeable strength, even in the face of adversity. Suzanne was a beacon of light in a world that so often feels dim, a testament to her enduring spirit and the love that she carried in her heart.

Suzanne is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, James Hawkins; her son, John Hawkins; her brothers, Thomas, Robert, and Richard Maffitt; her sister, Sharon Maffitt; and her grandchildren, James Stroud, Tanner Dominic, Nicole Vankirk, and Christine Adams. She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Maffitt; her mother, Antoinette Puskac; her daughter, Dawn Stroud; and her siblings, Terry, Bill, and Michael Maffitt. A funeral service will be held at Heritage Mortuary, 3610 North Rancho Drive, Las Vegas, Nevada, 89130, on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00am PDT.
