Shirley Hogan

April 23, 1957 — December 10, 2020

Shirley Jean Hogan, daughter of Leonard Miller and Emma Bell Miller was born April 23, 1957, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Shirley accepted Christ at a young age. She attended public school of Sharkey County, where she graduated from Rolling Fork High School. She later went to attend Jackson State.

Years later, she had her only child Sabrina Hogan. Shirley, known to her close family as Shane, was a kind and loving person who loved family, friends, reading, and enjoying every moment she had with her grandchildren making memories and teaching them how to make her special sweet potato pie.

Shirley work many years in retail at Home Express, when she moved to Las Vegas, NV. In 1992, she started her 28 year job at Southwest Medical. Throughout the years, Shirley volunteered at the local rec center. where she fed the homeless, seniors, and was a leader of the Girl Scout. She also sat on the Boards of Commission for the North Las Vegas Housing Authority.

As a result, of her kind heart, she was loved and also a mother figure to many. Shirley's influence will remain in the lives of all who knew her.

Shirley left this life Thursday, December 10, 2020, at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. She is preceded in death by her parents, father, Leonard Miller, mother, Emma Bell Miller, one sister, Virginia Kay Miller, two brothers: Leonard Miller and Keith Miller, all her grandparents, many aunts and uncles.

Shirley's beautiful life will forever be cherished by her daughter, Sabrina Hogan, her three grandchildren: Aybreeana, Keyanah, and Amir all of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers: Calvin (Lorenza) Miller of Vicksburg, MS, Billy Ray Miller of Las Vegas, NV and Michael (Felicia) Jones of Vicksburg MS; four sisters: Mary Shall (Jerome) Reed of Jackson, MS, Judy Lynn (Sam) Awala of Riverdale, GA, Jackie Jones of Vicksburg, MS, and Kassandra (Micheal) Jones-Davis of Rex, GA; and an aunt, Bernice C. Miller of Los Angeles, CA. Shirley also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

Shirley Jean Hogan, you will forever live in our hearts. You will be remembered for the love had for your family.
