Sherry Yvette Baker was born April 15, 1957, in Oakland, California to the late Gus Vann and Louise Adams. She was one of 10 children, one of whom was her twin sister. Sherry graduated from Skyline High School in 1974, shortly after she married and had her first two boys Ronald and Mario Sessions.
In 1981, Sherry became reacquainted with Dwayne whom she had known since she was 8 years old. Their romance led to them being married on July 7th, 1991. This union brought the births of their sons, Kente' and Dwayne Baker. In 2004, the family left Oakland to move to Las Vegas, NV in order to give their four boys a better future.
Sherry was a fast-talking, fun loving woman, who always spoke her truth; and when she loved you, she loved you hard. She especially loved her family and truly enjoyed whenever she was able to be in their presence. Sherry particularly found joy in her special bond with her niece Tamika and her children. She adored all her grandchildren and still found the energy to ask on the well-being of her newest grandchild in her last days. In her final years Sherry became more conscious of her spiritual needs and began studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed learning about the promises of the Paradise Earth.
