Rosa D. Cannon was born on January 27, 1953; unto Sherfield Dillon Sr. and Johnnie M. Dillon in Bogalusa, Louisiana and was the tenth child born of the fourteen children. Rosa received her formal education at Bogalusa High School. Rosa relocated to Tacoma, Washington then later relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada.
At an early age, Rosa accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and served at Friendship Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Pastor Billy Gilmore and continued under the leadership of Pastor Gordy McDonnell.
Rosa was employed by the Las Vegas Hilton Corporation as a Kitchen Stewart for over Thirty-three years until retirement early this year.
Rosa was very loving and giving of herself and enjoyed helping others, spending quality time with her grandchildren, cooking meals, singing, bowling, watching movies enough to where she could reenact each scene and collecting refrigerator magnets.
Rosa was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Cherry Gail Banks, Lucy Marie Yarbrough and Shirley D. Gordon, brothers; Bennie Gatlin, Willie Gatlin, Sherfield Dillon Jr. and Richard Dillon, and Grandchild; De’Vante D. Dillon.
She leaves to cherish her memory: six children, Timothy R. Dillon, Graylon F. Dillon (Sandy), Jaqueline M. Dillon, Charles E. Dillon, Katrecia Cannon and Michael Cannon all of Las Vegas, Nevada. Twelve Grandchildren, Four Great- Grandchildren and One Great- Great Grandchild. Two Sisters, Missionary Francis (Elder Roscoe) Greene of Greenville, Mississippi and Winnie (Jose) Dillon of Las Vegas, Nevada. Three brothers; Joe (Margaret) Gatlin, James (Judy) Gatlin, Bishop Tyrone (Larnique) Seals and Three sister-in-laws; Annie Gatlin, Oralee Dillon and Leomia Dillon all of Las Vegas, Nevada; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
