Pealie Lee Brown affectionately known as "Red" was born august 24, 1944. Pearlie Lee Brown affectionately known as “Red” was born August 24, 1944, to the union of Will and Ethel Wilson in Tallulah Louisiana. She was the youngest of 14 children.
In 1960, Pearlie left Louisiana to join her older siblings in Los Angeles, California. Upon arriving in Los Angeles, she lived with various siblings until she found employment and was able to live on her own. She was a resident of Los Angeles, California until she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 2019.
Pearlie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. Before moving to Las Vegas she was a member of the new beginning Church in Los Angeles California under the leadership of Bishop Harrington MC Frazier. She was a faithful member of the mother's board until she moved. Pearlie remained strong in her faith although she was unable to attend church due to her health problems.
Albert Brown was her late husband, preceded her in death in 1979. She was the mother of three children: Wayne, Gregory, and Dorothy. Additionally she was a foster mother to many displaced or abandoned children through the Los Angeles Department of Children Services.She was also a beautician who owns her own shop.
She enjoyed doing hair and entertaining her customers. Pearlie loved her children and grandchildren. She worked hard to ensure her children were homeowners and could succeed in life. She was the favorite fun-loving aunt among all her nieces and nephews.
Pearlie was a caring person. She was a great cook. She loved having gtherings at her home in which she enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends she was known for making the best peach cobbler you ever tasted. Her home was always open to those who needed a helping hand. She was always looked out for wayward children or elderly neighbors that needed food or help. Being the youngest of 14 siblings, she always helped care for her older siblings as they experienced health challenges.
Pearlie enjoyed life to the fullest. Her favorite pastime was playing Bingo and playing cards. She loved playing Spades with her favorite niece, Rea, they would almost always win. Pearlie was great at telling jokes and was so funny, she could have been a comedian. She had a great sense of humor and was always the life of the party. She had a great, great love for fishing and camping.
Pearlie departed this life on June 22, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert Brown, her sisters: Georgia Jackson, Ella Blackmon Cooper, Willie B. Fealings, Helen Gamble, Edna Board, Pecola Wilson, her brothers: Fred Wilson, James Wilson, William Wilson, Robert Wilson, Percy Wilson, and Charles Wilson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her sons: Ervin Wayne Wilson of Los Angeles, California, Gregory Phillips of Monroe Valley California, her daughter, Dorothy Wilson of Las Vegas, Nevada, her sister, Jean Levingston of Vallejo, California, a god daughter, Adrena Swayne of Los Angeles, California, 13 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
