Michael Welch

Michael Earl Welch affectionately whom we called “Mikey” was born on August 3, 1979 to Earl Welch and Gail Shanklin in Los Angeles California. Michael received his formal education through the Los Angeles public shool system. Michael was currently enrolled at CSN College of Southern Nevada, working towards an Associate’s degree in Business Administration.

As a child Michael was very shy and quiet in the eyes of people who didn’t really know him, but when he was around his favorite twin cousins Darnell & Romell, Michael was not at all shy or quiet; whenever Michael, his two younger brothers Jermaine, Dejuan, & his cousins the twins all got together the fun was on. They would run around the block getting into all kinds of mischievous behavior but it was all in fun. The things they did included playing ding-dong-ditch, taking the neighbors Christmas lights, stopping traffic by banging
rocks on the railroad tracks to cause the railroad gate to come down, going swimming at the local park, playing war by throwing plums at each other, and collecting cans and bottles on the weekend in order to
make money to buy candy.

As Michael got older he took an interest in world affairs in regards to stocks & bonds and how business corporations worked. Michael was very smart and intelligent, Michael would educate you to the latest
information he stumbled upon, and when he told you about what he researched, you were convinced he knew what he was talking about.

Michael was also very persuasive; he had a way of drawing you into what he was excited about. Whenever he would share information he thought was helpful & insightful, passion would fill his face as he told it.

On Wednesday, January 21, 2015 Michael departed this life. He was preceded in death by his loving mother Gail Shanklin; beloved sister Laronda Perry; beloved grandparents Solomon & Lucinda Welch, Herman &
Helen Shanklin; beloved Aunt Noreta Shanklin & his uncle Herman John (Rusty) Shanklin. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving father Earl (Yvette) Welch of Las Vegas, NV; one sister Marie (Kenneth) Boone; four brothers Jermaine Welch, Dejuan Welch, Deandre Welch all of Los Angeles, CA; & Dameon Welch of Las Vegas, NV; one step brother Demetrious Henderson of Atlanta, GA & one step sister Dashanae Williams of Long Beach CA; three aunts, Debra (Ivory) Welch-White & Patrice Welch of Los Angeles, CA and Candis Shanklin of Fontana CA; nine uncles, Ronald (Rachael) Welch of Montclair CA, Donald Welch, Sonny McVae all of Los Angeles, CA; Kenneth (Linda) Shanklin, Michael Shanklin of Carson, CA; Horace Dewayne Shanklin of Palmdale CA, Patrick Shanklin of Riverside, CA; Terry Shanklin of Seattle, WA; Ronnie & Debbie Carter & family all of Los Angeles, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins & many friends.
