Mel Fabros

Mel Fabros, 55, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Wednesday, June 23, 2021, with the love of his family surrounding him due to complications after a successful heart surgery.

Mel was born in Yokosuka, Japan on March 15, 1966 to Camilo Sr. and Delia. Being a Navy brat, Mel grew up in a number of cities, but mainly in Arlington, Virginia and San Jose, California. He attended Independence High School in San Jose where he lettered in football and continued his education at UC Berkeley graduating in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. While at UC Berkeley, Mel was very active with the Pilipino American Alliance and through his participation, met his future wife, Eve, whom he married on September 23, 1995.

Mel was passionate about fitness and opened several fitness centers culminating with opening Bodysport Fitness Performance Center in Las Vegas during the mid 2000’s. Mel’s pride was sharing his passion for fitness with adults, teens and children. Mel and Eve welcomed daughter, Arianna in June 1999 followed 3 years to the date by son, Jaxson, in June 2002. Mel was a devoted husband and father. Aside from family and fitness, Mel was a man of
many other passions including, Karaoke, fixing cars, playing practical jokes, catching up with his many
friends, watching the Los Angeles Lakers and Pittsburgh Steelers, enjoying the Vegas scene, and
entertaining friends and family visiting Vegas.

Mel will be missed by his wife of 25 years, Eve; children, Arianna and Jaxson; mother, Delia; brothers, Camilo (Sarah, and nieces, Hayley and Abby) and Gerry (Tryphena, and nephew, Takeo); as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Mel was predeceased by his father, Camilo Sr. A Viewing/Prayer Service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021, at 3:00 – 7:00 p.m., at Heritage Mortuary. A live streaming is available starting at 3:30pm. See the live stream window below or go to this page:
