Lanetta Wilmore-Bey Riley was born in Kansas City, Kansas at KU Hospital on December 26, 1965, to proud parents: Roosevelt Wilmore-bey and Pamala LeJeune. What a blessing and joy to behold. She was the eldest of her two sisters: Rosetta (Pooh) Wilmore-Bey and Pamala (Stink) Wilmore-Bey.
Lanetta attended Attucks Elementary, Lincoln Junior High School, and graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a proud member of the Lincoln Tigers Marching Band and she played the flute. She was very active growing up in dancing school, art school, girl scouts, skating, the junior bowling team.
Lanette went on to graduate from PBS Business School. Later in life, she was blessed with three children: Curtis Damon Fisher, Jr., on April 11, 1985, Lakishia Lynn Fisher on November 18, 1986, and Darell Lamont Fisher on June 28, 1988. She met her husband, Samuel Riley in 1992, fell in love, and was married in 1998. Seeking to connect with relatives from her father's side, the family packed up and moved to Las Vegas shortly after the wedding. This would be her home until she moved to her heavenly home.
She would light up with joy meeting and connecting with all of our beautiful family here and those bonds were so special to her. Jennifer Mccurdy and Benjamin Walker, my mother always said "You were NOT cousins, but sisters and brother at heart". Before becoming disabled, she worked as a collections agent and boy was she a vicious one (chuckle). Lanetta loved all things hair and nails and could dress to kill. She was the pillar of our family and the one that brought us all together. Her cooking is something that we will forever remember and emulate. The kind sweet and generous soul that she was will forever be a reminder of the way God intended for us to be.
On Saturday, October 16, 2021, Lanetta transitioned from this life to be with the Lord. She was proceeded in death by her father, Roosevelt Wilmore-Bey, sister, Pamala Wilmore-Bey, paternal grandparents: Jordan and Elizabeth Wilmore, and her maternal grandparents: Benjamin Williams-Bey and Ruthanne Williams
Lanetta leaves to cherish her memories her husband-Samuel Riley; mother, Pamala LeJeune; stepfather, Welton Lejeune; sister, Rosetta Wilmore-Bey; two sons: Curtis Damon Fisher Jr. and Darell Lamont Fisher; daughter, Lakishia Lynn Fisher; a host of beautiful grandchildren, MUCH MORE family and Friends......"The Frasier family."
