Karen L. Roundtree, born on June 15, 1970, on Tuslogbet US Air Force Base, was the cherished youngest sibling of four born to Molly B. and Lawrence T. Roundtree. Growing up in a military family, Karen experienced various bases, from Minot Air Force Base to Travis Air Force Base, where she learned to skate and treasured her yellow bike.
Her adventures continued in Wiesbaden, Germany, from 1981 to 1984, where she developed a love for the local cuisine. Settling in Nellis AFB, Karen balanced school while starting her family, welcoming her oldest son in1990. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for computers.
Karen's career path led her to Fresno, where she embarked on her journey as a PBX operator. However, it was her move back to Las Vegas that brought her the opportunity of a lifetime at the Venetian, where she flourished as a lead PBX operator until her retirement in 2021.
Karen's zest for life was contagious, and her kind heart saw the good in everyone she met. She radiated love and positivity, leaving an indelible mark on those around her. Karen is survived by her children, Deonte Williams,Nutoya Briggs, Desiree Young, Caprisha Young, Jade Manning, her mother, Molly Roundtree, siblings Maurice, Lawrence, and Stephaney Roundtree, along with 14 grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
