John Harris, affectionately known as "Bubba", was born on October 10, 1942 to the union of John and Lillie Harris in Columbia, South Carolina.
In his early years, the family relocated to Long Beach, California. The family grew to a capacity of ten (10) children, four boys and six girls. John often reminded everyone that he was the "Baby Boy".
Bubb was a charismatic person who never met a stranger.
After graduating from high school, it was no surprise that he would seek an occupation that involved meeting and interacting with people. He was employed as a bus driver for the Long Beach Transit Syster until he landed his dream job as a Driver with Greyhound Bus Line Services.
After relocating to Las Vegas, Nevada, he began driving for Western Coach Company and remained there for 40 years until his retirement.
He was fiercely protective of his family, and he bragged about them at every opportunity.
Bubba transitioned from this life to be with the Lord on December 18, 2023.
He was preceded in death by his parents; John and Lillie Harris, two brothers; William and Wallace, three sisters; Cora, Lois and Linda.
Bubb leaves to continue his legacy, three sisters, Carol Friend-Junior (Willie), Julie Harris and Monnie (Michael) Miller, all of Las Vegas, Nevada, eight children; MariLynn (Raymond) Tyner and Craig Harris of Torrance, California, Rochon (Michelle) Jones, LaShonda (Barry) Jones-Moore and Fonda Jones of Detroit, Michigan, Navaja (Harold) Jones-Willis of Des Moines, Iowa, JaRuben Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada and Christopher Jenkins of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, 21 Grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and acquaintances.
He was John R. Harris, aka Bubba, aka Bonkoon, aka Pipehead, aka OGGG.
