Javier De Leon Alicano

Javier De Leon Alicano was born on May 30, 1966, to Andres De Leon Villegas and Aida Luisa Alicano Cantres in Rio Pierdas, Puerto Rico. He was the seventh child born out of eight children. Javier grew up in El Bario Minao De Caimito. He moved to Res. of Villa Esperanza Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico with his parents and siblings in 1975.

He attended LaCumbre Elementary school and Escuela La Barbosa middle school, where he played basketball. He graduated from Escuela Romon Villa Maya, where he also played basketball and ran track. After high school, he attended computer college in Puerto Rico. Javier was also dedicated to working with his father in his construction business.

Javier grew up in a Christian home. From the time he was born, he always attended Pentecostal Christian Church in Puerto Rico. He accepted Jesus Christ in his early childhood. Javier was very talented at many things. He was an arts craftsman, an excellent tile layer, an interior decorator, an amazing cook, a lover of music, and just an all-around great guy that was proud of his Puerto Rican heritage.

Javier moved to the United States at the age of 27 in 1993, where he resided in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a dedicated employee of the Desert Inn Hotel for seven years, where he was promoted to Master Cook. He later went to the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino where he was a cook and worked as Saucier Chef.

Javier married Kristi Johnson in Mrytle Beach, South Carolina on July 18, 2004. They built their life in Las Vegas, Nevada where they bought their first home, toured the world, made many friends, and a lifetime of memories.

On Wednesday, September 8, 2021, Javier went home to be with Our Lord. He was preceded in death by his father, Andres De Leon Villegas; his brothers: Orlando De Leon, and Potoco De Leon; and his sister, Rebecca Roman.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife, Kristi De Leon, and their sweet little dog, Kila; his dear mother, Aida Luisa Alicano of Puerto Rico; his loving mother-in-law, Paulette (George) Spencer of South Carolina; his siblings: Luis Andres "Andy"(Milo) De Leon of Puerto Rico, Sandra De Leon of Puerto Rico, Damaris De Leon of Puerto Rico, Armando (Paulette) De Leon of California; two brother-n-laws: Duane (Kim) Johnson of North Carolina, and Thomas Spencer of Florida; nieces and nephews: Anita, Milagros, Andrea, Pedro, Josean, Rafi, Lisandra, Chispita, Carla, Mariancel, Carlitos, Bebo, Manjavi, Armando Jr., Anissa, Ariana, Becky, and Pito.

He has a host of great-nephews and nieces, wonderful cousins, aunts and uncles, and an abundance of loyal, dedicated friends that were all very special in their own way.

Javier was a magnificent man, a loving husband, a beloved son, a dedicated brother, a supportive uncle, a dependable cousin, and a loyal friend. He will forever be in our hearts. Javier will be dearly missed, but never ever forgotten. We love you, Javier, may you "Rest in Peace."




Javier De Leon Alicano nació el 30 de mayo de 1966, hijo de Andres De Leon Villegas y Aida Luisa Alicano Cantres en Rio Pierdas, Puerto Rico. Fue el séptimo hijo de ocho hijos. Javier creció en El Bario Minao De Caimito. Se mudó a Res. de Villa Esperanza Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico con sus padres y hermanos en 1975.

Asistió a la escuela primaria LaCumbre y a la escuela secundaria Escuela La Barbosa, donde jugó baloncesto. Se graduó de la Escuela Romón Villa Maya, donde también jugó baloncesto y corrió pista. Después de la secundaria, asistió a la universidad de computación en Puerto Rico. Javier también se dedicó a trabajar con su padre en su negocio de construcción.

Javier creció en un hogar cristiano. Desde que nació, siempre asistió a la Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostal en Puerto Rico. Aceptó a Jesucristo en su primera infancia. Javier tenía mucho talento en muchas cosas. Era un artesano, un excelente capa de azulejos, un decorador de interiores, un cocinero increíble, un amante de la música y simplemente un gran tipo que estaba orgulloso de su herencia puertorriqueña.

Javier se mudó a los Estados Unidos a la edad de 27 años en 1993, donde residió en Las Vegas, Nevada. Fue un empleado dedicado del Desert Inn Hotel durante siete años, donde fue ascendido a Master Cook. Más tarde fue al Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino donde fue cocinero y trabajó como Saucier Chef.

Javier se casó con Kristi Johnson en Mrytle Beach, Carolina del Sur, el 18 de julio de 2004. Construyeron su vida en Las Vegas, donde compraron su primera casa, recorrieron el mundo, hicieron muchos amigos y toda una vida de recuerdos.

El miércoles 8 de septiembre de 2021, Javier se fue a casa para estar con Nuestro Señor. Le precedieron en la muerte su padre, Andrés De León Villegas; sus hermanos: Orlando De Leon y Potoco De Leon; y su hermana, Rebecca Roman.

Se va para apreciar su memoria, su amada esposa, Kristi De Leon, y su dulce perrita, Kila; su querida madre, Aida Luisa Alicano de Puerto Rico; su amada suegra, Paulette (George) Spencer de Carolina del Sur; sus hermanos: Luis Andres "Andy" (Milo) De Leon de Puerto Rico, Sandra De Leon de Puerto Rico, Damaris De Leon de Puerto Rico, Armando (Paulette) De Leon de California; dos cuñados: Duane (Kim) Johnson de Carolina del Norte y Thomas Spencer de Florida; sobrinas y sobrinos: Anita, Milagros, Andrea, Pedro, Josean, Rafi, Lisandra, Chispita, Carla, Mariancel, Carlitos, Bebo, Manjavi, Armando Jr., Anissa, Ariona, Becky y Pito.

Tiene una gran cantidad de sobrinos nietos y sobrinas, primos maravillosos, tías y tíos, y una gran cantidad de amigos leales y dedicados que fueron todos muy especiales a su manera.

Javier era un hombre magnífico, un esposo amoroso, un hijo amado, un hermano dedicado, un tío solidario, un primo confiable y un amigo leal. Él estará por siempre en nuestros corazones. Extrañaremos profundamente a Javier, pero nunca lo olvidaremos. Te queremos Javier, que "Descansa en Paz".
