Jacqueline Simon

Jacqueline (Jackie) Denise Simon (65) was born on December 1, 1958, in Louisville, KY to Mary and Louis Simon Sr. She was the first of six children from this union. She graduated from Pleasure Ridge High School. After graduation, she moved to Toledo, OH with Jeannie. There she met Willie Mayo and together they had two sons, Will Irvin Simon and Jarvis Mayo. In 1983, she took a chance and moved to Las Vegas, NV with Aunt Jeannie for a fresh start.

As she resided in Las Vegas, NV, she worked for Ceasar's Palace Hotel & Casino for over 12 years. Later she worked for several years at university Medical Center (UMC) Hospital where she retired. Later in her life, she married Harrison Matthews III. Her family was her pride and joy. In her pastime, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Jackie was known for her quick, witty, and infectious laughter. She had a way of brightening up any room. Her sharp sense of humor and love for life were truly unparalleled. She loved to spend time with her family, sharing stories and memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

On February 16, 2024, she departed this life with family by her side. She was preceded in death by Willie Mayo and her husband Harrison Matthews III.

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memories her mother Mary Simon, father Louis Simon Sr., two sons: Will Simon and Jarvis Mayo, her three grandchildren: Jaymere, Jaliyah, and Jazelle Mayo, her siblings: Louis Jr., Denise, Ronald, Yolanda, Latonya, and also Karen and Kenneth Coleman.

As we say goodbye to Jackie, let us remember her not with tears, but with smiles and laughter. She would want us to celebrate her. Her memories will live on in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to Shine bright from the Heavens above.
