Harrison Johnson

Legendary gospel recording artist, arranger, and conducror Harrison"Bubba" Johnson blazed a trail for all current gospel artists by founding and conduction the Los Angeles Community Choir in 1958.

He led the choir, made up of LA's most vivacious and talented singers and musicians, in the writin, development and recording of eight (8) gospel albums rich with songs such as "I've Decided to Make Jesus My Choice" which has strengthened the faith of all listeners.

A friend to all, Brother Johnson was a charismatic leader and shared his positive energy with whomever he was around. His smile was a fixture and lit up any room he'd walk into. His talent for playing the piano and organ stood out most of all. He enjoyed sharing his musical gifts and alwaysmade an effort to teach anyon who wanted to learn.

He will be sorely missed but his legacy will live on through his musical recordings and in the heards and minds of all who knew him.

"Bubba's" family extends heartfelt gratitude to all of his church family, "adopted godchildren", choir members, friends, and supporters for sharing time with him over the years.

We can rest assured that he is now a member of that "Chelestial Choir" above which is led by the Grandes Director, enjoying unceasing peace in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
