George Powell

George Powell was born on May 11, 1958, in Warren, Arkansas to loving parents, George and Bessie Mae Powell who preceded him in death.

in 1962, the family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where George would attend Valley High School. The Powell family attended New Light Missionary Baptist Church.

In 2003, George married Doris Powell who preceded him in death.

George was a gentle spirit for all he encountered, those who knew him well knew him by his nickname (Pookie). He had an amazing hand for the art of drawing and would love to make cards and draw pictures for friends and family.

George leaves to cherish two sons, Tony Evans and George Powell Jr. of Las Vegas, Nevada; one daughter, Tiffany Marie Milliner of Las Vegas; two sisters: Betty Ann Veal and Theresa Powell of Las Vegas; and an aunt, Dorothy Major-Powell. He leaves to mourn nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a girlfriend, Mattie (Candy) Maude and a host of relatives and friends.

Proceeding him in death were his parents: George and Bessie Mae Powell; two brothers: Curtis Wayne Powell and Ricky Powell; a sister, Bessie Taylor; a niece, Latoya Powell, a nephew, James Powell, and a brother-n-law, Stanley Veal.brother-in-law
