Elbert Graham was born on December 9, 1929, to the union of Virgal and Carrie Graham in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. He graduated from Crystal Springs High School, where he was very athletic, playing both basketball and baseball.
Elbert Joined the United States Army in 1951, and shortly after, he met and married the love of his life, Ruby Lee Powell in 1956. After being honorably discharged from the Army. He was hired at the Veteran Administration (VA) Hospital, where he served as a groundskeeper supervisor.
In 1961, Elbert, Ruby, and their three children relocated to Santa Monica, California. Their family continued to grow and they welcomed two additional children.
Elbert was a very hard worker, not only did he work for the VA Hospital. He also held a position with Southern California Gas Company. After Elbert retired in 1991, the family made the decision to move to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Elbert was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church, and participated in the Male and Mass Choir. He loved to help the church cook breakfast for those in need. His favorite pastimes were fishing and camping with his family. When he would do something without asking and you would tell him not to do it. His favorite line was "Tell Me Something."
Elbert is preceded in death by his mother and father; one brother, Lee Edward Graham; three sisters: Irma Lackey, Hazel Hicks, and Sara Bradley; and two sons: Elbert Graham Jr., and Jeffery Graham.
Elbert leaves to cherish his memory wife, Ruby Lee Graham; daughters: Pamela Graham, Joanna (Dossie) Davis; Peggy (Deacon Rickie) Breaux; son, Michael Graham; two sisters: Carlee Lee Davis, and Joan Newton; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.
