David Leon Stokely was born on June 26, 1947, to the union of John and Pauline Stokely in Newport, Tennessee.
David received his formal education at Tanner High School in Newport.
David Stokely enlisted into the United States Air Force on May 28, 1965. On April 24, 1986, David retired with an honorable discharge with the rank of Master Sargent.
On June 27, 1981, David married the love of his life, Caroly Brown, in Wichita, Kansas. Their union was blessed with one child.
David accepted Christ as his Savior in May 2006, when he united with New Revelation Baptist Church (now House of God). David served faithfully at New Revelation as the Chairman of the Deacon Ministry.
Upon his retirement from the United States Air Force, David worked for the Department of Defense in various civilian roles, such as Structural Superintendent, Aircraft Fuel System Technician and as a Civilian Engineer Contractor.
In his leisure, he enjoyed working on cars, reading his Bible, being the family handyman, helping others and he spent a lot of time at his favorite place, Home Depot.
David Leon Stokely transitioned this life to be with the Lord on July 28, 2023
David was preceded in death by his father; John Stokely, mother; Pauline Stokely, wife; Caroly Stokely, sisters; Hattie Belle Woods, Evelyn Stokely and Carol Walker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, sons; Tavis (Robin) Brown and David Stokely Jr., brother; Dennis Stokely, sisters; Ella Stokely and Dee Ruby. David also leaves a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends that will miss him dearly.
