Darryl Tate was born on February 27, 1960 to the proud parents of Tommy Joe and Lille Mae Tate in Dallas, Texas. Darryl was one of two born to this union.
At a young age Darryl, his mother and brother moved to California where he received his education while growing up. As an adult he passed his board examinations and worked as a Respiratory Therapist for over 20 years.
Darryl had a wonderful sense of humor and was very competitive. He liked to play Scrabble and Monopoly. His favorite sports teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Lakers. Most of all, Darryl loved to read starting at an early age reading the dictionary. Some of his favorite authors were Watchman Nee, Paul Tillich and Francis Frangipane but nothing replaced the Word of God.
On April 13, 1991, Darryl married Dionne Renee Maiden and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in November 1991, to start a new life and family. To this union was born one daughter, Danielle and two sons, David and Daniel. In an addition, he had two older sons from his previous marriage, Darryl Tate II and Laurenzo Tate.
After arriving to Las Vegas, Nevada Darryl immediately made Golden Valley Apostolic Church now known as Mountaintop Faith Ministries his church home where he served and ministered under the leadership of Pastor Clinton House. In August 2001, Word Ablaze Ministries was birthed and Darryl became Pastor Tate and was excited about the vision that God had given him for the city of Las Vegas which was to encourage everyone he came in contact with to become a student of the Word of God and to birth their visions, dreams, ideas.
Darryl was a wonderful mentor to many who went on to start businesses, write books, and record songs as they fulfilled their destiny.
On Thursday, November 8, 2012, Darryl made his life transition from this world to be at rest in the presence of the Lord.
