Connie Denise Bender was born March 24, 1968 in Los Angeles, California to her loving parents Curtis L. Bender and Brenda Joyce Sherman.
Connie accepted Christ at the early age of four at Greater Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, California.
Connie attended Hillcrest Elementary School in Baldwin Hills, CA, Gompers Middle School and in 1986, she graduated from Manual Arts High School. She went on to attend Los Angeles Trade Tech Community College. After colleges, she began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Her dream was to become a LVN. She obtained her CNA license so that she could work and provide for her children.
In 2002, Connie landed a job with the California Department of Corrections (CDC) in Lancaster as a CNA working at the Prison. She continued going to school to complete her LVN classes. In 2004, while working for the CDC Lancaster Prison, Connie was injured and soon after, her health began to decline.
Connie loved food, music and playing dominoes with anyone that was up for a challenge. Her children abd family were her life.
On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, Connie transitioned this life to be with the Lord.
Connie was preceded in death by her grandparents; Christine Bender, Samuel and Elizabeth Sherman, her baby sister; Vanessa Payne and some aunts, uncles and cousins.
Connie leaves to cherish her memories, her four children; Brittany Webb, Brandon (Keanna) Webb, Brejonae Timmons and Brionna Williams, her 13 grandchildren; Kemar’yae, Nevaeh, Kharion, Nyaira, Nylas, Nariyah, Kyrie, Khalil, Kaylon, Ayanna, Amahri Jr., Arianna and Ahmad, three sisters; Felicia, laToya and Shamona Bender, half sister; LaWanda Payne and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
