Booker T. Collins was born on February 5, 1929 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the union of Aron Leanda Collins and Mary Honeysuckle.
In 1953, Booker married Derma Lee Marks in Arkansas. In 1969, Booker met and married Gloria B. Davis in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Booker found Christ at an early age. He served as a choir member at Second Baptist Church, as a deacon at St. Anthony, a choir member at Calvary Southern Baptist Church and as a proud member of Justice Church of Deliverance under the leadership of his son, the late Pastor Dwayne Collins. Booker was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #32.
Booker was a laborer and later became a cement finisher before retiring from Recco. After his retirement, Booker worked as a crossing guard for the North Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
Booker loved to create songs and play the guitar, however, he was most known for all of his joking around.
Booker proudly sang in a quartet called The Beautiful Zion and was fondly known as "Squeaky and Mr. Giggles" around the community. His favorite song was "Christian Automobile" which he lovingly made his kids sing on que throughout their lives.
On December 16, 2021, Booker finally pulled into his parking space and departed this life.
Booker was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria B. Collins, his daughter Vickie R. Taylor (Purnell). son, Pastor Dwayne Collins, siblings; Tom Collins, Levy Collins, David Collins, Mattie Lee Collins, Percelle Collin and Odie Belle Collins.
Booker leaves to cherish his memories, his children; Vircie Wilson (Bob), Barney Collins, Carolyn Myles, Doris Harris (Richard), Judy Clark, Valerie Calbert (Thomas), Annette Collins, Geraldine Collins, Terry Collins (Elva), Booker T. Collins Jr. (Carla), Aaron Collins (Tamera), Jacqueline Holmes (James)all of Las Vegas, Nevada. Michael Collins (Dewilliane) of Seattle, Washington, daughter-in-law, Delores Collins and grandsons Richard Myles (Connie) and Deshone Myles (Jordana). He also leaves behind sisters-in-law Brevell Baxter and Mildred Collins, a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, other relatives, close friends and his church family .
Booker, you will forever live in our hearts. You will be remembered for the love you had for your family and mostly your love for the Lord.
