Beverly Ann Crook-Cooper was born on October 2, 1948, to Katie laws and Benjamin Sims Sr. in Los Angeles, California. She was the second born of four children, two girls and two boys. Beverly was always very helpful, giving, and kind to others. She loved and welcomed most people she met with open arms and a beautiful smile. You always felt cared for and loved after meeting Beverly.
Beverly graduated from Fremont High School in Los Angeles, California. She started her career in the teletype room at Pacific Bell in downtown Los Angeles. Beverly later became a sales representative and retired in 1998, from the company after 30 years of service. In her pastime she volunteered and participated in local activities with her friends, like attending Jazz concerts and singing events.
Beverly gave her life to our Lord, Jesus Christ at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and continued to serve at several other churches. She was a dedicated member and servant no matter where she went. Beverly fulfilled her role on all the committee's she joined. Her smile and hospitality towards others will never be forgotten.
On Tuesday, July 13, 2021, Beverly Crook-Cooper was called home to receive her wings. Her legacy will live on as a "Woman of God", an amazing mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Louis Cooper; sister, Patricia (Ernest) Lewis; daughter, Brandie (Damion) James; son, Brian (Joleen) Cook; five grandchildren: Kenyon, Saroiya, Georgia, Paris and Brian Jr. In addition, she leaves her church family, The Renaissance Fellowship and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
