Alma Perry was born on November 15, 1938, in Terrell, Texas. She was one of eight children born to Epsie and John Henry Noble. Alma was the seventh of eight children, raised in a small town outside of Dallas, Texas. She eventually followed her brother’s lead and moved out west to Las Vegas in 1957, in search of opportunity and prosperity.
Alma met Archie Perry, Sr. shortly after relocating to Las Vegas, and they married in 1965. Their union brought forth one child, Dr. Archie Perry, Jr. They were pillars of ‘Historic’ West Las Vegas, living and giving so much to Windsor Park and Valley View Park communities.
Alma was a loving woman, providing support, and guidance to many throughout her life. Her heart and home were always open to those who needed a helping hand...a true angel in that regard. She was an independent, hard-working woman who worked in the casino industry for forty years in Las Vegas. In 2004, Alma retired
after working 26 years at the Flamingo Hilton. She was a faithful member of Remnant Ministries, her home church for the last eight years.
On Friday, December 4, 2020, Alma went home to be with the Lord. She is preceded by her husband, Archie Perry, Sr., both parents: Epsie and John Henry Noble, and her seven siblings: two brothers --John and Jesse; and five sisters – Edna Mae and Josie Noble, Edith Gahagan, Velma Paxton, and Ruth Hickman.
At the time of her eternal rest, Alma, (aka Granny), was the matriarch and centerpiece of a family that she absolutely cherished. She is survived by her son, Archie C Perry, Jr.; her five grandchildren – Archie III (Tre), Armand, Alex, Aliyah, and Max; and one great-grandchild, Ava Marie. She is also survived by two additional ‘sons’: Charles Avery and Leonard Harris; a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and many, many additional surrogate ‘children’ and ‘grandchildren’.
Alma Perry, you will forever live in our hearts. You will be remembered for the love you had for your family and friends.
