Obituary for Henri Pipper

Henri Pipper was born on November 6, 1933, in Surabaya, Indonesia to his parents, Hendrick Pipper and Amelia Verwey. After World War II, they moved to the Netherlands. He attended Hogere Zeevaart School voor Scheepswerktuigkundigen. In June of 1954, he graduated as an Engineer and joined the Merchant Marines.

Then in 1961, Henri and his former wife and his first-born child, Elvira immigrated to the United States and settled in Los Angeles, California. There he had three more children: Katherine, Joshua, and Paul Pipper. Henri loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was proficient at just about anything he set his mind on doing. For fun he was a cook, seamstress, mechanic, builder, ordained minister, pilot, musician...you name it, he could do it without any instruction!

His career focus was in the refrigeration industry. He designed, built, and ran ice cream and popsicle factories. In 1998, he met the love of his life, Endriani, while living in Indonesia, who he married in July of 1999. Together they settled in the Greater Los Angeles area until 2011, when they moved to Nashville, Tennessee.

Tennessee just was not their cup of tea, so in 2013, the two of them moved back to warmer weather in Las Vegas, Nevada. There they were surrounded by a wonderful circle of friends and they made themselves a wonderful home.

On November 25, 2020, Henri passed away. He is preceded in death by his father, Hendrick Pipper, his mother, Amelia Verwey, one of his sons, Joshua Pipper, his sister, Alwine Albertine Van Hek.

Henri leaves to cherish his loving memories, his dear wife, Endriani Pipper, his three children: Elvira (Jeff) Gutzwiller, Katherine (Gregg) Gale, and Paul (Meghan) Pipper, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.

Henri Pipper, you will forever live in our hearts. You will be remembered for the love you had for your family.

Because COVID took Henri away from us, the family is mindful about large gatherings and therefore is hopeful to have a Celebration of His Life in the Spring of 2021 in Las Vegas.
