Obituary for Gerrod M Belin

Gerrod Marvin Belin was born on October 26, 1986 in Madison, Wisconsin and is the youngest child of Gregory Belin Sr. and Bobbie Hayes Belin.

Gerrod joined the Mt, Zion Baptist Church at an early age. He was very active in church, served in the youth ministry. He really enjoyed working with the youth and in any area he was asked to serve. He truly loved the Lord and enjoyed studying God’s Word.

Gerrod was educated in the Stoughton School District until high school. Then he attended Edgewood High School in Madison, WI where he played basketball and later transferred to East High School where he graduated in 2005. He continue his education by attending Clark Atlanta University where he majored in Political Science.

Gerrod was caring, generous, playful and quite charming. He liked to dance, sing and fantasied about living a Hollywood lifestyle. He loved listening to sermons by Juanita Bynum, gospel & R&B music and comedy. One of his favorite activities was playing the violin. He was very disciplined and it paid off for him as he was a member of the Sinfornette Orchestra of the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra (WYSO). He had the opportunity to meet his favorite violinist, Karen Briggs, who played with Yanni. He was a sharp dresser and took many selfies.

On Monday, October 19, 2020, he completed the final chapter of his earthly journey and entered his place of eternal rest. Gerrod was preceded in death by his grandparents, Abe and Rosie Lee Belin, Central Hayes, Robert Long, Gracie Mae Long (Hudson).

He leaves to cherish many fond memories of him, his parents Gregory and Bobbie Hayes Belin, brother Gregory Belin II, uncles: Tyrone (Erma) Belin, Charles (Cathy) Belin and Tim (Joyce) Belin , Joe Donald Hayes, Aunts: Sue Cummings, Grace Belin Patterson (Al), Addie Rochelle Williamson, Godparents: Gloria and Jerry Withers and a host of family & friends.
