Obituary for Martha Catherine Allen

Martha Catherine Allen was born on September 18, 1957, to the parents of Shirley and Sanford Adams in Lafayette, Louisiana. She was the only daughter, and the eldest twin to her brother, Malcolm Trotter Sr.
The family moved from Louisiana to California when Martha was a little girl. She came from a large family, she had six brothers who loved, protected and cherished her immensely.

She excepted, the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age, and loved him with all her heart and soul. Martha graduated from Crenshaw High school in 1975. She married her former spouse, Michael Allen, and from that union they had two children; Lamar and Crystal Allen. She was a devoted wife and mother, who was truly dedicated and committed to her family.

The family relocated from California, to Las Vegas, Nevada; where she passed away. Martha worked at McCarren International Airport as a Barista for 25 years, where she recently retired. She had an impeccable work ethic and was known to be a dependable worker, and her experience was undeniable. She was admired by her fellow co-workers and supervisors, and she touched the lives of so many, as well as the customers she served.

Martha loved all her family and friends and showed her love by her kind and loving spirit. Whether she knew you or not you would feel the love that she had by her smile or just a warm touch or hug. Her personality is what drew you to her; she always had a smile on her face and her laughter was infectious, and it was fun to be around her. She would light up when she saw children, she loved children so much; they seemed to give her the strength she needed to go on. Her mother said to make sure everyone knew how much Martha truly loved children.

Martha would help anyone in need and her arms were always open to everyone she met. She was faithful to the end, even during trying and difficult times with her health, she made sure those she loved, especially her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were taken care of, and there is no substitute for that kind of unselfish and godly love.

Martha will be greatly missed, but we will never forget all the good times of love and laughter we shared with her over the years. Martha’s life was a testament of her faith and trust in God, and we can learn from how she found grace in time of need, that got her through the difficult times of her life.

We thank God for the life and legacy she left, because we are all the better to have known such a strong, giving and loving woman. May she rest in peace from all her labors, where there is no more pain, sorrow, or tears; only joy unspeakable and full of glory in the arms of our Heavenly Father.

Martha is survived by her children; son, Lamar Allen and daughter, Crystal Allen/Wilbert.
