Obituary for Leonard Turner Sr.

Leonard Turner was born on December 14, 1940, to the late George Turner and Eller Alexander–Turner in Delhi, Louisiana. He was affectionately known as Slim by his friends and family. Leonard was the fifth of eleven children.
Leonard was called home by his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 24, 2020. Leonard attended Waverly High School in Delhi, Louisiana and relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1958. He was employed at the Nevada Test Site as a Custodian from April 12, 1961 to September 19, 1969. Leonard made a career change as a Sky Cap for McCarran International Airport which is where he retired from after approximately 40 years.

Leonard was a connoisseur of cars and airplanes. Frequently he would attend and participate in car shows. He had a passion for architecture and excelled at it without any formal training. In fact, he would design, plan and have homes built.

Leonard was proceeded in death by his daughter, Felecia Annette Turner; Siblings: Etham Turner, BD King, Ora Dee Conner, Robert Turner, Frank Chambliss, and James Turner.

Leonard leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 58 years, Lena Mae Turner, son, Leonard Turner, Jr (Lisa). Siblings: George Turner, Jr., Mary Griffin, Catherine Peer (John) and Delores Turner; Aunt Protee Wilson, two step granddaughters, Niya and Tiara Justice, godson, Alex Gordon, god granddaughter, Rosemarie McMorris-Alexander (Abrom), god great-granddaughters, Aria and Alyssa, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
