The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of David Ross can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Dr. Patricia Brumley
Condolence: Once in a life you come across someone that touches your life and since High School days in Gary, Indiana we knew of each other and he was friends with my many brothers. Life is strange we encountered each other and became the best of soul mates, then God knew better. David is missed more than earthly words can explain. God must have needed a teacher, advocate, father, and son.

Condolence: I can't believe this is real. Mr. Ross made such an impression on me as my sixth grade social studies teacher. He was also the head of our Dominos Club after school. More so than any of that though, I considered him my FRIEND. To be able to say that about a teacher when you're only about eleven years old means so much. You will be sorely missed. I LOVE YOU MR ROSS. Thank you for making an awkward bullied nerd feel special.

Condolence: Teachers learn from other teachers as well as their students, and it was from David Ross that I learned a great deal about connecting with students and to be part of your students’ neighborhood to be able to support their learning. He was known for cutting through the chaos and taking care of situations-a natural strategist. He awakened many students to the rewards of learning and encouraged many to believe in their inner strength. I’ll miss you, David. Thanks for your friendship and for caring about the “little people.”

Condolence: Mr. Ross was my Social Studies teacher in the 6th grade back in 1990, he was the 1st teacher that actually made me think. It is because of him that I learned to love school and excel at it. I am sure that mine was not the only life touched by his greatness as a man and teacher. He will truly be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time.
